#TBT to the Summer of Yoga Video I Shot for lululemon Washington, DC!

Guys. This is big. Like huge, ginormous, Totoro-size big!

A month or so ago a Facebook invite lead to an email that lead to a few phone calls that led to an awesome gig... for lululemon. Yeah. You read that right. THE lululemon. The lemon to the lulu. Excuse me for being ridiculous, but six weeks later I still think that landing *this client* totally warrants a ridiculous response.

Anyway. Back to the details.

Summer Yoga Series | lululemon athletica | Washington, DC from Sandi Moynihan on Vimeo.

Long story short, I got to shoot a short highlight reel for lululemon Washington, DC at their fabulous Summer of Yoga event on the Georgetown waterfront.

Originally, I was supposed to paddle out on a kayak with my camera and shoot SUP yoga, but it was too windy outside, so yoga was relocated to dry land (which, in all honesty, I didn't mind at all -- bringing my gear out on the water = YIKES!).

The yoga itself was awesome and featured local instructors from FloYo Standup Paddleboard Yoga (who did a great on-land class) and a post-workout refuel from Nooma. After the sunset, lululemon moved the party Malmaison for cocktails, small bites and smiles.

All in all it was an awesome (picture perfect!) event to be a part of. I can't wait to work with lululemon Washington, DC again.

P.S. Washington, DC is one of several stops around the country lululemon is making this summer as part of the Summer of Yoga series -- maybe there's a stop near you!

Health and Wellness Shoot with MOARFIT (aka Homemade Health DC!)

When I first got into the freelance world of health and wellness multimedia back as a college student in 2012, I never could have imagined I'd meet all of the wonderful people I've had the pleasure of working with over the past few years.

Chatting with semi-famous yogis? Check. Interviewing intense Olympic athletes? Check check. Taking photos featured in national publications? Big huge check!

Yet despite all these big career milestones, the thing I'm the most proud of doing isn't something you'd come across on a big, national fitness website. See, my bread-and-butter freelance job is something more humble and something I'm really, really proud to spend my weekends and evenings doing:  working with local health and wellness professionals/brands/businesses in the Washington, DC-metro area to help them visually brand (or-rebrand) themselves without making them go broke.

My latest client? The fabulous Amy Rizzotto of MOARFIT (soon to be re-named Homemade Health DC!).

I first met Amy at a Detox2Retox yoga event she was teaching at Mr. Man's and my favorite spot for a pint, Hellbender Brewery. Not only was Amy's yoga class, fun, challenging and accessible (a must to be deemed a "good" class in my book), but even non-yogi Mr. Man seemed to enjoy himself, which, made me take notice of Amy and her business, MOARFIT.

So, after a few months of taking the occasional Detox2Retox class, and watching Mr. Man actually enjoy other yoga classes at Amy's studio, Yoga Heights, I was flattered when she approached me about taking photos and recording a promotional video for her health and wellness business rebrand.

Not only did we have a blast on the shoot (even though it was really hot outside), but I think the photos (video to come!) turned out wonderfully. What do you think?

The End of USO Route 75 = I'm back and bloggin'!

Pfew. Well guys, its been a while, and I'm so glad to be back!

ICYMI, I took a bit of a blogging hiatus while I was traveling on-and-off as part of USO Route 75. You can read more about that here.

Anyway, all that's important for you to know is that I'm back with PLENTY of stories to share, a bunch of new project ideas/leads and even more plenty of photos and videos to show you. So, get pumped!

Now, the only question is... where do I begin?

Check back next week!
