I'm at the age where all of my friends are getting married. If you're in your mid/late twenties or older, you know what I'm talking about. We've already been to a few ones this year and they've all been lovely!
This May, one of my dearest high school friends, Lindsay, is getting married and I have the privilege of being her maid of honor.
Earlier this winter, myself and the rest of the bridesmaids teamed up to throw her and her hubby-to-be an Olympic-themed couples shower, complete with games, sweet treats and plenty of themed decor.
She asked that, as a bit of present, I bring along my camera to capture some of the festivities and decor (hand-made by my friend Kayla!) and I'm so glad I did. I mean, how cute is all of this (and how talented is Kayla!)?
Oh, weddings and friends and fun...

Happy Cinco De Mayo & My Photoshoot With The Fabulous Alexi Tetrault!
Happy Cinco de Mayo all you fajita-eating, margarita-drinking kids! Make sure to take an extra sip of that lime-ey goodness or eat a sopapilla (or five) today for me!
Anyway.
In other news, I've been super duper busy the past few weeks. Between regular work for the USO (I'm getting trained in AfterEffects, woo!), side-gigs, writing for Spright, my birthday and social obligations, it's truly been a whirlwind.
In all of my busyness, however, I've had the opportunity to work with some really fantastic people, including the awesome Alexi Tetrault.
After seeing some of my photos of the Grip the Mat girls at one of their events, Alexi, who knows both of the ladies from yoga teacher training, reached out to me to take some photos of her for her new yoga and nutrition busines.
I, of course, jumped at the chance! Shooting health and fitness photos is right up my alley and much more in my comfort zone than shooting posed head shots (although, I'm working on that!).
Because I had a jam-packed schedule, Alexi and did did a double-session split shoot -- half in the morning and half in the afternoon, and it was so much fun!
In the morning, we headed to the OpenCity cafe at the National Cathedral, as well as the Bishop's Garden on the cathedral grounds. You'd never know it was freezing outside by how sunny and gorgeous the photos look though!
In the afternoon, we headed to a few murals round Adams Morgan. Alexi really wanted to incorporate the colorful fruits and vegetables on the mural in her photos, and I think we acheievd a really nice result.
Either way, I had a blast doing this shoot and am totally pleased with the results! What do you think of my shots?

My new website is here: Introducing SandiMoynihanMultimedia.com powered by Squarespace
It's HERE! It's finally here!
Introducing the new, the improved official website of Sandi Moynihan Multimedia!
As much as I loved my old website, this was certainly a long time coming.
After finding a terrible virus in my old Wordpress powered site with my grad school application deadlines looming closer, I had the perfect excuse to redo my site.
After seeing my boyfriend's new Squarespace site, I didn't have to think twice about how I wanted to re-do mine. Squarespace makes it SO easy to create beautiful, functional and adaptable website tailored specifically towards your needs.
My photos look great. My videos look beautiful. My text layouts look clean. What more could a girl want?

Holiday Flashback: My Holiday Trip to Hawaii -- Part 1: Seattle.
Happy Hump Day! I hope everyone up north is slowly starting to dig themselves out from the crazy blizzard weather. Have an extra cup of hot cocoa for me please :)
You know, I can't believe its only been three weeks since I was in the warm Kona sun with my family, sipping lilikoi juice and eating pineapple, ah! If I can close my eyes and concentrate, I can still hear the ocean waves, crashing against the shore...
Let's go back to paradise today, okay?
Before December, I had never been to Hawaii, let alone Kona, or anywhere on the big island. I never really realized just how FAR away Hawaii was. So far, in fact, that I had an amazing afternoon layover in Seattle, WA, which was a total treat.
I'd never been to Seattle before, either, so I decided that instead of spending the day inside the airport terminal, I should hop on the lightrail and head into the city to see something -- anything -- to say I had actually been to more than the airport there.
After asking for suggestions on what to do with six hours in Seattle, I decided to head to Pike's Place Market, which was the perfect activity.
Between hitting up the original Starbucks...
... finding amazing flowers ...
... making friends with a seagull...
.... and just enjoying the local flavor, it's safe to say I enjoyed my time there.
Now, I just want to go back!

That Time I Shot an Event at Hierarchy DC for Grip The Mat
Happy Monday! I hope you're having a fabulous & warm start to your week, especially if you're in the Northeast area (stay save in this crazy blizzard weather!).
I'm coming off quite a high from last week's craziness. Not only did I have a bunch of my stories for the USO publish, but I hosted my first-ever booth for Fiterazzi at a Grip the Mat Bendy Brunch event -- but more about those things in later posts.
First, I want to take you back in time. Back before New Years toasts and Christmas morning hugs to those sweet weeks of anticipation before December 25th...
Before I headed off on my amazing tropical Christmas vacation, I had the privilege of shooting another yoga event for Grip The Mat.
One of the duo's signature events is called Vinyasa to Vino, which is essentially a combined happy hour and yoga class.
I believe they've hosted all of these at Hierarchy DC (where I was at), which is a hip little art gallery in Adams Morgan.
While the space was tight and the lights were few and dim, I managed to capture some really nice moments and even got to whip out my new Canon 7d (woop!) for its inaugural run.
I know it's not a Mark III, but hey, I'm progressing as fast as my bank account will allow me.
I'll admit, I don't have shooting a yoga event down pat. I'm still learning which poses and angles are fabulous in pictures and which ones are super awakard for both the shooter and the shootee. I'm pretty confident I'll get there though.
In the meantime, I'll keep snapping pics and you, my friends, will give me all the feedback in the world.

My Fiterazzi latest: Tights Review, HIITs & Tips for Staying Healthy this Holiday Season
Happy Friday! For some reason, weeks after holidays always feel the longest. It's not like anything bad has happened -- I love my job -- but something has had me looking forward to a low key weekend all week long.
I blame the grey winter weather that's rolled in. Anyway.
Over the past few weeks, I've been doing a lot of photography, writing and organizing for Fiterazzi Magazine, who I moonlight for when I'm not working for the USO.
Just before Thanksgiving, my article all about the latest and greatest in workout leggings hit the web and has been doing fabulous!
I've gotten a lot of great feedback from readers about this article, so that's super encouraging. I think next time I'll try to keep the prices of the products I sample in mind. Some of my readers pointed out that the options were a little out of thier price ranges. Woops.
Anywho. Here's a sneak peak for you to read :)
You can read the full piece here.
Oh, and if you're feeling like you want to get a workout in, I also whipped up a fun Pre-Turkey Day HIIT.
I also wrote a fun little piece about a few easy tips and tricks to staying healthy during the holidays.
I think people can get caught up in the business of holiday festivities and forget to take care of themselves, so I thought it would be helpful to write up a little guide of how to keep yourself on track no matter how festive you might get.
Here's a peak at that story.
You can read the full piece here.
Enjoy!

Behind the Shoot: Spooktacular-ly-awesome photos for Fiterazzi Magazine!
Happy almost Halloween! I hope you're as jazzed about the festivities tomorrow as I am!
This past weekend I hosted the fall shoot for Fiterazzi Magazine with a few of my fit-minded friends. the idea behind this shoot, in comparison to the summer shoot was to capture some fall foliage/scenes and showcase some new fitness moves in the cooler autumnal weather -- andd talk about autumnal weather, we scored the JACKPOT on Sunday. 60 degrees. Sunny. What's not to like?
My four lovely models and dear friends -- Alisha, Sarah, Autumn and Sara -- donated their smiling faces and strutted their stuff on camera for me about two hours total.
It's funny, before the shoot, I don't think any of the girls new each other, but they all knew me, and by the end of the session, they were all laughing, smiling and getting along splendidly.
I met each of these ladies in a very different way and each at a different time in my life.
Autumn, the lovely African-American sporting the charcoal sweater, met me when I was 18 when we were both starting out playing on the GW softball team together

And the other Sarah, who's wearing my favorite pair of BODYPOP watercolor print leggings, was one of the first real-world friends I made when I was working with her at Post TV -- the video outlet of the Washington Post.

Alisha, who's gorgeous dark complexion makes her pink jacket just POP, I
met earlier this year while playing dodge ball at a local social sports
league, USS, here in the city.
Sara, the fierce gal rocking the short
hair cut, has been my creative competitor and close friend for years,
since we studied journalism and video production together at SMPA.

And the other Sarah, who's wearing my favorite pair of BODYPOP watercolor print leggings, was one of the first real-world friends I made when I was working with her at Post TV -- the video outlet of the Washington Post.
Each of these women has been a friend to me in her own special way -- which is why I was so glad they all got to meet each other and help represent Fiterazzi with me, looking fit and fabulous in on the streets of D.C. on that spectacular fall day.
