All of the Fall Feels: Mini Session with DC Zumba Teacher Melanie Smith!

The holiday season is in full swing, but my mind is still in fall mode, mostly because I've been doing this fall mini session flashback blog posts :)

Speaking of --  for the final installment of my fall mini session flashbacks, I present the lovely Melanie Smith.

Melanie is a zumba instructor for Washington Sports Club in Silver Spring, MD and is an amazing fit model. I mean LOOK at these shots!

If you've been following my work for a while, you'll probably recognize Melanie. I've done several shoots with her before -- urban DC, Costa Rica, etc. -- she's basically my best client.

Anyway, I'll let the snaps speak for themselves...

Shooting the Washington Sports Club Zumba-thon for the Cure at Downtown Silver Spring

My little photography side business has introduced me to so many wonderful people over the years, including the fabulous Melanie Smith (she's a Zumba instructor at Washington Sports Club in Silver Spring).

I met Melanie about a year ago when Amy Rizzotto, a DC yoga teacher and co-owner of Yoga Heights, introduced us via email. Long story short, Melanie was Amy's yoga student and was asking Amy about who she (Melanie) should hire to get a few fitness shots taken.

Bada-bing-bada-boom (... and a year, two photo shoots and a yoga retreat later...) and I was in downtown Silver Spring, MD capturing shots of Melanie's breast cancer fundraiser this past October.

The fundraiser, which benefitted the Susan G. Koman foundation, featured a line up of WSC Zumba instructors, including Melanie and was a major crowd pleaser and had a wonderful turn out (especially considering it was a Friday night!).

I was so honored that Melanie asked me to come and shoot the event -- what a great cause, a great group and a great time!

Here's a look at some of my favorite snaps from the event:
